In the build up to the 30th running of the FEI European Eventing Championships in Fontainbleau, France, the Germans were clear favorites to lift the team title having already secured World and Olympic Gold. Great Britain has won the last seven European team titles but few expected them to lead after the dressage and then sweep all before them, despite Badminton winner Flint Curtis not being on top form. Team Gold went to Great Britain with Italy taking the Silver medal and Belgium took Bronze at this year's European Eventing Championships in France.
