The closed, dry cold system eliminates stall and stable clean up, and because the system keeps your horse dry throughout therapy, you are no longer contributing to water-related bacteria and fungus that can create hoof maladies.
The tendon/canon pad is designed differently from competitors' products. Ice Horse pads have a specific chilled water flow pattern that guides the water throughout the treatment surface of the horse's leg. This provides even distribution of cold throughout the treatment area.

The Leg Stays Dry and Cool Throughout the Treatment Period
Gentle passive compression at 5 pounds per square inch (PSI) encompasses the horse's leg. Within the pad, constantly chilled water flows at a rate of 1000 ML/minute, or a liter per minute.
The water pad is contained in a unique passive, or static, compression sleeve developed by Ice Horse. The sleeve encompass the cannon bone and is secured by four expandable straps that provide firm placement and even compression throughout the leg surface being treated. This combination of the water circulatory pad and insulated sleeve system results in the horse's leg being colder longer, due to the insulating factors of the unique sleeve system and the constant compression it provides.

A built-in thermometer allows you to easily monitor the temperature of the water being applied to reduce the soft tissue inflammation (be it an acute or a chronic injury).

How it Works:

The powerful motor operates just above a hush.

It constantly circulates the ice water at the selected temperature you determine, pulling heat out of the inflamed tissue and delivering fresh ice-cold relief directly to the treatment site.

The pressure is gentle, consistent and not released, consequently keeping the leg uniformly cold throughout the treatment period.

The system effectively keeps constant cold in the wrap, providing soothing comfort to the horse which helps shorten recovery time in the presence of an acute injury.

The quick-connect coupling system has been time-tested throughout ten years of use. It has been proven glitch-free, permitting easy removal from the horse's leg.

The control dial and thermometer are conveniently located on the hose leading from the Ice Horse machine to the “Y” splitter for dual-leg treatment, or when a single leg is being iced, it is directly attached to the pad system.

Power Source Options
The Ice Horse Continuous Flow Cold water System operates from a 7.5 volt power transformer connected to Standard 110 Volt Systems. Where 220 volt systems are the norm, selected transformers are required for efficient operation. The transformer is an option. It may also be operated on battery power. A rechargeable 12-volt battery is available. Prices vary.
