John Nunn - CEO/Owner

John was born into a family of horsemen. Raised in Rochester, New York, he grew up on a 300-acre very active horse farm, which was home to about 60 horses. The family did everything from Hunters and Jumpers to breeding and teaching. John rode Jumpers as a child and moved to Thoroughbred racing when his father took a position as a full time Thoroughbred trainer at Finger Lakes Race Track when John was 14. For the next 20 years John worked galloping and breaking racehorses in addition to serving as the assistant trainer under his father. He then went on to have a successful training career of his own.

After settling down in the Fair Hill, Maryland area, John purchased a racetrack tack shop. In 20 the years that followed it grew to be one of the largest tack shops and online stores in the U.S.

Bit of Britain isn't John's only entrepreneurial success. About 15 years ago, he started a wholesale company which manufactures and distributes equestrian products to over 500 stores throughout the U.S. and six countries abroad. Today, Nunn Finer Products is a leader in the equestrian market as trusted supplier of fine English tack and supplies.

In case you think John isn't busy enough with his business ventures, keep in mind that he is also a father of three (two boys and a girl), and husband to a wonderful wife who is also a rider. Oh, and let's not forget that John is a competitive rider himself, and currently competes in the sport of Eventing.

Lynn - Accounting
Like much of the staff at Bit of Britain, Lynn started riding when she was quite young, 10, in her case. Unlike any of the other staff, however, she started off showing Saddle Horses. In the Saddleseat arena she piloted her then-mount, Stylish Princess, to the title of The Horse Show Association's (HSA) Junior Exhibitor 3-Gaited Horse of the Year.

Lynn attended William Woods College where she received a degree in Equestrian Science. During her years at William Woods, Lynn found a love for Hunter/Jumpers, which she competed actively in for many years and resumed when her daughter began riding. Recently, she piqued an interest in Eventing and had a successful horse trials debut aboard her OTTB Richie The Thief in Aiken in the Spring of 2016!

Helena - Marketing

Helena is a native New Yorker now living in coastal New England on a small farm she shares with two appaloosa geldings and her horse-crazy kid. Helena spent several years working for, and riding out with, the Myopia Hunt.

A successful career in marketing for the IT industry (yes, she is a geek) led her to founding her own small marketing firm catering to equine businesses. Helena has been working with Bit of Britain since 2007.

Hannah - Marketing
When Hannah was four, her well-intentioned father started taking her to a local stable to pet the horses. Little did he know what a large *investment* he would be making (thanks, Dad!)...At present, she can be found out an about in Area 2 competing her OTTB gelding, Ajax.

Hannah joined the Bit of Britain team in the fall of 2015 and is happy to be able to combine her degree in Communications from the University of Maryland with the sport she loves.

Sydney - Customer Service

Sydney has worked at Bit of Britain as a customer service representative for over four years now. She came to Bit of Britain after retiring from a long time career in Public Health with the State of Delaware.

Sydney also loves to foxhunt, and is a member of the Carrolton Hounds Hunt. When not busy riding herself, she is a National Examiner and Chief Horse Management Judge for the United States Pony Club. Summer finds her often flying off to faraway places throughout the U.S. to serve in this capacity. If that's not enough to keep her busy, Sydney also finds time to volunteer at nearby Fairhill International Horse Trials. There you will find her out on the cross country, fence judging with her Corgie, Finnigan!

Coming SoonValerie - Customer Service

Val comes from an extensive riding background including Pony Club, Hunters, and Eventing. In addition to her talents in Customer Service, Val trains, teaches and is a proud mom of two great kids.
